In the last reporting year (2003-04), this Los Angeles area school district encompasses 40 school sites, 32, 486 students and 1, 372 full-time equivalent teachers plus a sizeable administrative organization in support of district services. Ours is a district committed to the notion that we are all learners who must work togethre if we are to improve the quality of education for our students. our responsibility as administrators , educators, civic leaders, and members of the community is to provide an environment that enables our students to reach their highest level of achievement. At the core of our beliefs is that all children can achieve their maximum potential by mastering the academic, moral, and social curriculum. A quality education must develop independent, self-directed, problem-solvers who are life-long learners. To attain the highest levels of learning, we believe that all children must ahve the opportunity to learn in the classrooms that are exciting, active, co-operative, and to be able ot understand the value and worth of diversity.

WIS Services

In early 2005, we stabilized the existing AS/400 environment which included upgrading the operating system, reorganizing libraries and other unnecessary file structures, creating backup routines and protocols, etc. We also trained existing IT staff to perform basic routine system administration.

Later, we migrated all Gateway Textbook Management System data to their new SQL-based Student Information System and migrated all old Student Information System data to the new SQL-based Student Information System. Finally, we evaluated possible applications and/or other ongoing uses for the AS/400.
