Design Merchants, a Los Angeles-based design and product firm, was founded in 1978 by Michael Rosen. In efforts to become familiar with apparel production from a first-hand vantage point, Michael traveled extensively in the Far East. In his travels he met with manufacturers, agents, and various service businesses to gain knowledge of the apparel industry. It was then that he created his own firm, providing private label merchandise. Those relationships formed over twenty-five years ago continue to serve the firm. Although fashion is always in flux, the core philosophy of Design Merchants has remained constant: to design, source, and manufacture according to the highest quality standards, while balancing with the needs of delivery and budget. Today, Design Merchants operates as a "Private Label" women's/men's/sportswear company encompassing global production and design resources. Our concepts are unlimited - from fashion basics to edgy and active trends. Our objective is to design, source and manufacture to the highest quality and cost efficient standards.
